There’s something especially magical about an engagement that reflects a couple’s personality, and this engagement and session at the Museum of Science was exactly that.

Charles Rive and Longfellow Bridge Engagement

We began the afternoon at the beautiful Washburn Pavilion, where TJ had thoughtfully framed the scene with coordinating flower arrangements to compliment the sweeping views of the Longfellow Bridge and the Boston skyline. created the perfect backdrop for a romantic start to the session. The soft evening light, the Charles River shimmering behind them, and the excitement of being newly engaged made every moment feel effortless.

We began the afternoon at the beautiful Washburn Pavilion, where TJ had thoughtfully planned the perfect surprise proposal overlooking the Charles River. To make the moment even more special, he framed the scene with elegant coordinating floral arrangements that beautifully complemented the sweeping views of the Longfellow Bridge and the Boston skyline. As he got down on one knee, the excitement and emotion of the moment made everything around them seem to pause. Later, we found out they had an unexpected audience — a watchful crowd had gathered at the large museum windows overlooking the river, quietly cheering him on from inside as the proposal unfolded.

After capturing some classic portraits with the city views, we headed inside the museum to explore some of the couple’s favorite exhibits. This is where the session really became uniquely them. From playful candid moments to sweet in-between laughs, the Museum of Science gave us endless opportunities for creative and whimsical photographs.

One of my favorite parts of engagement photography is incorporating meaningful locations into a session. Choosing a place that already holds memories and joy for a couple always results in images that feel authentic and personal. Instead of simply posing for photos, TJ and Abby got to spend the evening together revisiting exhibits they love and creating new memories at the same time.

The combination of elegant city views and fun, lighthearted museum moments made this engagement session such a perfect reflection of their relationship- romantic, joyful, curious, and full of laughter.
